I think one thing I adore most about Ecuador (besides the abundance of Alpacas and Llamas - my favorite animals) are the culturally rich people who live here. They hold true to their indigenous roots in the way they dress, eat, act, live, work, etc. The blankets and tapestries you buy here weren't shipped in from China. You can rest assured you're getting hand crafted materials that may have taken them as long as 4 or 5 days for them to complete. $20 for an artistic fabric tapestry doesn't sound so bad at that working rate, now, does it? And, not to mention, the colors here are so vibrant and captivating! | Ecuador

"A nation's culture resides in the hearts and in the souls of its people." -Gandhi // My team and I were lucky to get to drive out into the country, away from technology and "modern" cities and learn the ways of a true, country, Thai farmer! We were taught how to fish, that tadpoles and ALL parts of a chicken -including the brain and cheeks (butt and face)- are edible, but most importantly, that life is so full of wonder and excitement if we just take a moment to learn from each other!! This is Son - a 60 year old Thai farmer - our new friend! | Than
